INTRODUCTION

Welcome To The ACity Technology and Entrepreneurship Center

ACity Technology and Entrepreneurship Center is the driver of innovation and entrepreneurship amongst students, faculty and industry partners with tailored offerings targeted at developing, growing and sustaining profitable and impact projects by leveraging partnerships and technology. The center has a makerspace, a climate lab and other offerings.

Team at TEC

Makafui Awuku, an innovator, entrepreneur, environmentalist, and founder and chief executive officer of Mckingtorch Africa, has been participating in academic sessions around the world and in-person sessions with University of Brighton PhD students in the United Kingdom. He has also been a guest lecturer at the University of Michigan in the United States and the University of Toronto in Canada. ACity students taking the mandatory Fundamentals of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Course had the opportunity to learn from his entrepreneurial path through his participation as a guest speaker. The session benefitted around 100 students.

Environmentalist and Innovator TEC Manager
Naa Nueki Otu is a hands-on and creative professional with a background in Industrial Art from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Committed to fostering diversity in the field, Naa actively supports women in STEM through various initiatives. She has conducted specialized training sessions for girls, focusing on laser cutting and engraving technology, empowering them with practical skills in a male-dominated industry. Naa remains a driving force in shaping the convergence of tech, design, and artistic ingenuity while championing gender equality and fostering the growth of future female leaders in STEM fields.

Climate Tech Accelerator in Ghana

Our partnership with Telesto Strategy’s Climate Tech Accelerator brought together 13 dynamic startups for a hands-on session at ACity’s Technology & Entrepreneurship Centre (TEC). Mr. Awuku Makafui, TEC Manager, guided them in crafting compelling pitch decks, drawing inspiration from real-world business models

But it’s not just about ideas and pitches – we’re also emphasising the importance of compliance and governance right from the start. Together, we’re shaping the future of climate entrepreneurship!

Launch of world's first Sustainability Lab and Arm Lab at Academic City University College

This historic event took place on Thursday, 9th February 2023 representatives from the US Department of State, Arm Limited, Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs, and more. These ultra-modern labs are equipped to support innovation and entrepreneurship among students. Big thanks to Dorothy McAuliffe, Thomas Debass, Stephen Ozoiglo, and all guests for making this possible!
