WU Visits Academic City as Part of Entrepreneurship Avenue Expansion Plans
Earlier this month, the Technology and Entrepreneurship Center (TEC) at Academic City University had the pleasure of hosting a team from WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) during their visit to Ghana.
Their visit was part of an early effort to explore bringing the Entrepreneurship Avenue Conference, Europe’s largest student startup event to Ghana.
Throughout the week, the TEC team joined them for a series of visits and conversations across different campuses and innovation spaces. The tour started with a roundtable at Academic City, followed by stops at the UGBS Nest at the University of Ghana and the entrepreneurship unit at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
A key highlight of the visit was a meeting with the Austrian Ambassador to Ghana, Jürgen Heissel, who expressed strong support for the initiative. The team also visited MEST Africa to engage with the wider startup ecosystem.
Discussions throughout the week focused on student entrepreneurship, collaboration between universities and innovation hubs, and how we can create more opportunities for young founders in Ghana and beyond.
Special thanks to Isaac Newton Acquah for helping make these connections possible.
We’re excited about the possibilities ahead and look forward to continued collaboration.
