Tech Expo 2025: Embracing Smart and Sustainable Cities Through Innovative Technologies
Tech Expo 2025, themed “Embracing Smart and Sustainable Cities Through Innovative Technologies,” brought together over 400 participants from across Ghana for a day of innovation, learning, and collaboration. Organized by the ACity Robotics Club with support from Academic City University and sponsors, the event showcased creative tech solutions aimed at solving real-world challenges related to smart and sustainable cities.
The Exhibition Challenge featured 22 schools presenting innovative projects addressing urban sustainability, efficient energy use, smart transportation, and waste management. In the university category, the University of Mines and Technology won first place, followed by Kumasi Technical University and Academic City University. In the senior high school category, St. Louis Senior High School took first place, with Yamoranasa Lab 8 and Accra Academy Senior High School placing second and third. Special awards for Most Impactful Project and Most Innovative Project were introduced, with winners receiving plaques and robotics components from TME.
A hands-on STEAM session led by Firefly IO provided participants with practical experience in robotics, automation, and programming, further bridging the gap between theory and real-world application.
The event was made possible through the generous support of sponsors, including Access Bank, Express Pay, Nsoromma GPS, Twellium Company Limited, Coca-Cola, Nuna Foods, Firefly IO, and TME Education.
Tech Expo 2025 ended with a networking session, connecting students, educators, and industry professionals. The event was a major success, reinforcing Ghana’s commitment to building smart and sustainable cities through innovation.
